HDT is the technology leader in lightweight gas and heavy fuel powered vehicles and small engines. Our long heritage as a motorcycle performance company and military supplier has provided the expertise necessary to build the world's best tactical motorcycles, UTVs and small heavy fuel powered engines.

HDT's humble beginnings started over 43 years ago as a motorcycle tuner and small supplier of electronic components to the US Military. Eventually HDT would combine these areas of expertise to become the first supplier of military motorcycles to the US Army since WWII. Forever dedicated to improving motorcycle engine performance and obsessed with the superior capabilities of diesel powered engines, founder Fred Hayes devoted his efforts to develop a revolutionary diesel powered motorcycle engine with an unparalleled power to weight ratio. In 2001 he succeeded.

Even more extraordinary is that HDT's engines not only operate on conventional diesel, but also on aviation kerosene-based fuels such as JP8, AVTUR as well as biodiesel. Our revolutionary, patent pending, proprietary designs allow our engines to be multi-fuel compatible while achieving fuel mileage that of comparable petrol engines.

HDT's cutting-edge engine design received the attention of the United States Marine Corps and a landmark contract to produce the world's first JP8/diesel powered tactical motorcycles was awarded to HDT in 2004. Since then our engine designs have expanded and evolved to output even more power, have improved efficiency and conform to more stringent global emission standards. These new engine configurations and displacements have been incorporated into the latest vehicle platforms to offer products that meet the rigorous demands of today's armed forces.
